As a Breast Health Center patient, you have access to the most advanced technology for the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease. The Beverly Hospital at Danvers was the first healthcare facility on the North Shore to offer the ImageChecker Computer Aided Detection (CAD) System. Approved by the FDA, this system uses advanced software to provide a computerized second reading of mammograms and calls attention to areas that may require further examination.
The ImageChecker is designed to digitize films, search for suspicious areas in the breast, such as clusters of bright spots and dense regions, and brings them to the attention of the radiologist, who then reviews the mammography film a second time. This technology, coupled with the expertise of our board-certified radiologists, provides a more accurate and definitive diagnosis than mammography alone.
Northeast Health System mammography facilities possess a valid license and certificate of inspection issued by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
